Hey Reader,

I spent most of my life cursing mornings and dragging myself out of bed for work or school. I was never a morning person. Now that I work for myself and can set my own hours, you’d think I’d sleep in. Instead, I’m wide awake at 6 a.m. every day. It’s a cruel twist of fate.

The upside is I love what I’m doing, so I’m actually excited to get to work each morning. Still, I wouldn’t mind making it to 7 a.m. once in a while. Because even though I'm up early, I'm still not a morning person.

Here's what I have for you this week:

This Week: Using Flipboard to Plan Your Next Trip

If you’ve never heard of Flipboard, it’s a free app and website that works like a digital magazine. You can follow topics you’re interested in, and then “flip” articles into your own collections.

People post on all kinds of topics including pet care, recipes, home decor, current events, and of course, travel.

Here’s how it comes in handy for trip planning:

  • Discover new ideas: Type in your destination and you’ll see a feed of stories from bloggers, locals, and travel sites.
  • Save and organize: Create a board for your trip, say “Cozumel Vacation” or “Italy 2026,” and keep all your research in one place.
  • Stay inspired: Flipboard curates related content, which often surfaces places or activities you wouldn’t have found on Google.
  • Sort by theme: I like to break boards into categories like food, day trips, or dog-friendly finds, so I don’t lose track of anything.

Instead of digging through saved tabs or scattered bookmarks, you’ll have a sleek, visual collection you can flip through any time. It makes the research part of travel feel more fun and way less overwhelming.

Topic: Earning Extra Income With Etsy Digital Products

One of the easiest ways to start making money online is by selling digital products on Etsy. You don’t need to ship anything or deal with inventory. People pay, download, and print. Done.

I’ve been selling on Etsy for a while now, and my scavenger hunt printables have been doing really well. Parents especially love them because they want quick, no-fuss solutions for keeping kids entertained. Even if they could make something similar themselves, they’d rather spend a few dollars to get something ready-made.

The best part is that digital products can be as simple or as creative as you want. A few ideas:

  • Scavenger hunts
  • Bingo cards
  • Travel planners
  • Party games
  • Printable wall art

Once you set them up, they keep selling in the background while you’re off doing other things. It’s not instant riches, but it’s a great way to add a steady stream of income that works perfectly with a digital nomad lifestyle.

🐾 Travel With a Dog

This Week: Finding Quality Dog Food Abroad

One thing I learned while traveling with Shelby is that dog food isn’t the same everywhere.

A vet in Mexico told me that even the big-name brands aren’t always the same formula and quality you’d find in the U.S. The bags may look identical, but the ingredients can vary by country.

Here are a few tips that have helped me make sure Shelby still eats well while we travel:

  • Do your research before you go: Check if your preferred brand is available in your destination and read ingredient labels carefully.
  • Look for premium or specialty stores: In Mexico, I’ve found higher-quality food at veterinary offices and pet boutiques rather than big-box stores.
  • Consider alternatives: If quality kibble is hard to find, look into gently cooked or freeze-dried foods you can order online, or even prepare simple fresh meals when needed.

Traveling with a dog means being flexible, but food is one area where it pays to be extra careful. A little planning can save you both an upset stomach and a lot of stress.

Hey Reader, Where I am in far northern California, fall is moving in way too fast. I'm trying really hard to embrace the fallness. Luckily, I'm a big fan of pumpkin spice so that helps. I've been working long days lately on a new project for an old client. It involves AI images and videos. Love it or hate it, AI is here to stay....

Hey Reader, I got all moved into my new place. I went from a 3 bedroom house with a giant yard to a studio apartment. Honestly, I prefer the studio. It's cozy and cute. And a lot easier to clean. Shelby's favorite part is that the studio is in my sister's converted garage, which means seeing other humans and dogs on a regular...
